Dayton area veteran receives France’s highest honor
Brig. Gen. Walter Givhan presents retired Air Force Col. Byron Lee Schatzley with the Knight of the Legion of Honor medal July 13 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Colonel Schatzley was recognized for his service as bombardier in the 558th Bomb Squadron during World War II.
