F-35 cockpit demonstrator visits Wright-Patt

Lockheed Martin instructor pilot Stormy Boudreaux highlights capabilities of the F-35 Lightning II integrated multifunction display to Gen. Bruce Carlson, Air Force Materiel Command commander. The F-35 cockpit demonstrator visited Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Sept. 8 – 10. The stealthy Joint Strike Fighter was designed to provide its pilot with unsurpassed situational awareness, positive target identification and all-weather precision strike capability. Aeronautical Systems Center's 640th Aeronautical Systems Squadron here oversees U.S. Air Force acquisition and program management support for the F-35. First flight test for the Air Force variant of the F-35 was Dec. 15, 2006 at the Lockheed Martin plant in Fort Worth, Texas. That test aircraft has now flown 46 times.
