Three Mustangs take to the air during the 2007 second, and final, Gathering of Mustangs and Legends at Rickenbacker International Airport outside Columbus, Ohio. The first GML was held in April 1999 with 65 Mustangs. In 2007, the ramp at Rickenbacker held more than 150 Mustangs and other warbirds. (Air Force photo by Ron Scharven)

Retired Korean Air Force member expresses thanks
Retired Korean Air Force Col. Bae-Seok Lee, presents a mediallion and certificate of appreciation to retired Air Force Col. Ernest Craigwell, a member of the 6146th Air Force Assistance Group. The 6146th AFAG trained Korean fighter pilots during the Korean War, and Col. Lee credited them with training "the first group of Korean pilots. Most of them became leaders of the Korean Air Force." AFMC mom, daughter run half marathon
WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio (AFMCNS) -- Having just completed the 11th annual U.S. Air Force Marathon's half-marathon race on Saturday, Barbara A. Westgate, Air Force Materiel Command executive director, places a finisher's medal around her daughter, Beth Smith. In turn, Ms. Smith awarded her mother with her own medal. Mrs. Westgate dedicated herself to a 42-week program to train specifically for the race. In the process, she lost 44 pounds, and realized her rededication to wellness. (Al Bright/U.S. Air Force)
