 
Gate 12A closed for approximately 70 days
Personnel usually entering through gate 12A will have several options for entering areas A and C. Gates 9A and 15A will remain open from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., Mon – Fri. Gate 8C will act as the 24-hour gate during the construction period.

Gate closures make way for improvements
Alternate gates will open Mar. 8 to help traffic flow during peak hours due to the closure of Gate 12A, (off SR 444, adjacent to AFMC Headquarters in Area A), and Gate 1B, (off Springfield Rd. in Area B).

New gate canopy design
An artist conception of what the new gate canopies will look like over Gates 12A and 1B here. The gate project, designed to protect security personnel and motorist from the elements and enhance force protection entry control procedures, will begin Mar. 8 and is expected to last approximately 60 days.

Solar pannels on top of the plastic bag recycling machine

Plastic bag recycling machine
What's new in the entrance of the base Commissary? Hint - it's not the candy machines. It's the new solar plastic bag recycling machine compactor. Wright-Patterson AFB now has three solar plastic bag recycling machines for people to discard their plastic bags which helps the base with recycling and stops filling up local landfills. Wright-Patterson Health News Road Show team, (L-R) Col.
