Surgical Capability Provides Mission Success Throughout the AOR
Lt. Col. Glory Meade, 379th Expeditionary Medical Group perioperative nurse, helps Major (Doctor) Brian Holt, 379th Expeditionary Medical Group general surgeon, don his sterile surgical attire in preparation for an operation, June 5, 2009, at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. This specific surgery allows the patient to return to duty quicker and with less pain. The surgeries performed here range from elective to acute emergencies. The surgical team provides treatment for patients coming in from all over the U.S. Central Command's Area of Responsibility. Lt. Col. First LEED building at WPAFB
Air Force Institute of Technology’s new academic building at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base recently received the base's first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design “Silver” certification rating. The effort is an Air Force initiative for improving energy efficiency and natural resource conservation at its installations while establishing safe, healthy and productive built environments and facilities.

Group ride at WPAFB
Over 200 motorcycles hit the streets of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in a group ride during the 5th Annual Spring Motorcycle Event held May 29. The event aimed to inform all base motorcycle riders on safe driving habits. The event featured safety briefs from the safety office, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and the California Superbike School.
