Fuels Research Finds Algae Green in More Ways Than One

The untransformed plant (Nicotiana tabacum) (left) shows no morphological changes. 711 HPW working on device to remotely monitor warfighters’ health in the field

Master Sergeant Robert Bean, Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Aeronautical Systems Command, Battlefield Airman Branch (ASC/WISN), holds a wireless capsule that when ingested, measures core body temperature. A receiver unit worn on Master Sergeant Bean’s vest transmits the information to a computer for health status monitoring.
