AFRL Technology Milestones Program
The Air Force Research Laboratory's Technology Milestones program highlights the Lab's ground-breaking achievements, spreading the word beyond the Lab to a wider, more diverse audience. The Milestones are one-page write-ups, complete with full-color photos and graphics that summarize a technological advancement, its significance to the mission, and/or its transfer potential to the private sector.
The program also acts as a direct line from the Technology Directorates to the Commander, keeping AFRL top leadership informed of the most significant technology advances and game-changing developments. The stories focus primarily on AFRL core technology, demonstrating the Lab's intrinsic value to the warfighter. They are grouped into five categories: Support to the Warfighter (air, space, cyberspace); Sustainment; Emerging Technologies; Technology Transfer; and Awards/Recognition.
The objective of the AFRL Technology Milestones program is to assist the AFRL Commander and management staff with reporting and marketing of AFRL's best technical efforts by providing "technology milestone" profiles to Air Force leadership, appropriate Department of Defense offices and the general public.
Technology Milestones are posted to the Web at http://www.wpafb.af.mil/news/index.asp?catid=163. Each year, AFRL collects the most significant stories into a publication that is distributed to media, legislators, community leaders, and academia.
