WRIGHT-PATTERSON INFORMATION PROTECTION DIRECTORATE
In 2007, the Information Protection directorate was formed with Headquarters located in Headquarters AFMC at Wright- Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio. The directorate was established in order to effectively and efficiently implement information protection (IP) policies and processes to protect Air Force information and systems. Air Force Chief of Staff, General Norton Schwartz, signed a memorandum in October 2008 directing all major commands, as well as wings, to establish an information protection office and staff who will assume duties related to information, personnel and industrial security programs.
Mission Statement: "Develop and implement security policy, provide oversight and develop a converged, enterprise approach across the Air Force to provide guidelines on how to protect information from cradle to grave."
Vision: "Significantly enhance information protection of all levels and types by developing coordinated policy; organizational structure; and collaborative training"
Goal: "Protect sensitive information, controlled unclassified information and classified information, and to ensure that the total force understands and can perform IP responsibilities"

CSF: Information Protection was approved to be the Executive Steering Group on February 8, 2012 to address information age threats like information security, network intrusions, as well as inadvertent releases of information.
ISAG: The Installation Security Advisory Group (ISAG) was created to form an approved policy and oversight council at WPAFB consisting of a convergence of Information Protection disciplines. ISAG also acts as the primary conduit for information exchange and promote dialog and collaboration, in the form of an oversight committee, among cross agency personnel engaged in the maintenance, analysis, and implementation of information protection processes.
TPWG: The Technology Protection Working Group (TPWG) was established in June 2001 by the AFMC Senior Security Steering Group. TPWG was created to act as the integration point for security, intelligence, and counter-intelligence services. Creation of the TPWG ensures that critical program information is afforded consistent and appropriate protection throughout the acquisition life cycle.
