AFLCMC ENGINEERING SERVICES DIRECTORATE

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Engineering Services Directorate provides state-of-the-art technical support for every Air Force fighter, bomber, and cargo aircraft; training system; remotely piloted aircraft; missile; and weapon currently in the USAF inventory. Throughout the Air Force's history, the directorate has consistently provided cutting-edge weapons systems support, from infrared countermeasures to the latest stealth and materials technology.
Airworthiness
Airworthiness is the verified and documented capability of an air system configuration to safely attain, sustain, and terminate flight in accordance with approved usage and limits. Click here for airworthiness resources.
ATTLA
The Air Transportability Test Loading Agency (ATTLA) is the Department of Defense agency responsible for the approval of airlift cargo. ATTLA certification is required if the cargo exceeds set requirements. ATTLA gives assistance to all branches of the federal government, and works directly with contractors and procurement offices to ensure the design of new pieces of equipment allows for air transportability. ATTLA also provides air drop certification, as well as authoring and maintaining MIL-HDBK-1791. Click here to learn more.
