MC-130H Combat Talon II Ku-Band Antenna Container

The Ku-Band Antenna Shipping and Storage Container (CNU-459/E) is a sealed, reusable, aluminum container engineered for the physical and environmental protection of the Ku-Band Antenna during worldwide transportation and storage. The container consists of a base and completely removable cover equipped with the special features listed below. The base is a double walled base extrusion welded to a skid made up of I-beam with forklift openings, humidity indicator, pressure equalizing valve and desiccant port for easy replacement of desiccant (controls dehumidification). A silicone rubber gasket and cam-over-center latches create a watertight seal at the base/lid interface. Stacking pads on the lid provide for stacking of like containers up to 16 feet high. The Ku-band Antenna is hard mounted to an aluminum yoke that is in turn attached to the container base with four clamps. The yoke limits the transmission of shock and vibration to the item to 25 G's. Casters is the base may be lowered to allow the container to be towed or pushed with minimal effort.
