VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES-WPAFB EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH
Volunteers are needed in a wide variety of opportunities, from science, math and aviation and aerospace "experts," to reading mentors and general classroom and program volunteers.

Miami Valley Reads
Needed: Reading tutors for K-4th graders at area schools involved in the OhioREADS Program.

Wizards Of Wright (W.O.W!)
Needed: "Bill Nye the Science Guy!" Volunteers take a variety of math and science demonstrations to schools for a 40-50 minute in-classroom program. Please email more information.
Robotics - FIRST LEGO League
Needed: WPAFB State of Ohio lead organization for the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) LEGO League, an international educational program for 8 to14-year-olds, to learn basic robotics using LEGO Mindstorm robots.

Needed: Volunteers who would be willing to share their expertise or an area of interest with local students in a variety of settings, to include career days and classrooms.

Job Shadowing Mentors
Needed: Individuals willing to share their educational/work experiences, job interests and/or subject matter expertise with junior/senior high school students through emails, phone calls or in-person.

Scanning Electron Microscope EDucatorS (SEMEDS)
