Appointments
We attempt to schedule your appointment on the same day of your request. If you have internet access you may use www.TRICAREONLINE.com or call (937) 522-APPT (2778) or 1-877-522-3600, if calling outside of local area, to book an appointment on the day you wish to be seen. There is no walk-in clinic or military sick call.

Arrival Time
Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to allow sufficient time for check-in and processing. Patients who arrive after their appointment time may be asked to reschedule their appointment or wait until the provider is available.

Missed Appointments
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time so that it is available for someone else to use. You may use www.TRICAREONLINE.com or call (937) 522-APPT (2778) or 1-877-522-3600 to reschedule or cancel your appointment.
 
Physical Health Assessment (PHA) Appointments
You will be contacted if you need to schedule an appointment. 

Children
Hospital policy states "Children will not be left unattended at any time." Please make appropriate child care arrangements prior to your appointment. 

Patient Confidentiality
Every patient has the right to a confidential visit with their provider. We request that family members desiring to be present during a family member's exam let the staff know so we can ask the provider. 

Pregnant Patients and Obstetrical Care
If you have a positive home pregnancy test or are at least 2 weeks late on your period, you may walk into the Perinatal Clinic Monday - Friday, 0730-1200, for a pregnancy test. Once pregnancy is confirmed, you will receive all of your care in the Perinatal Center, to include your post-partum follow-up visit. After the post-partum visit, you will return to Primary Care Clinic to receive your care.


Services Provided

B12 Injections
Given Monday - Friday, 0800 - 1100 and 1300 - 1500, in the Primary Care Clinic by the PCM team to which you are assigned. No appointment is necessary.

Blood Pressure Checks
TRICARE Prime patients assigned to the Primary Care Clinic may walk in for blood pressure checks Monday-Friday during normal duty operations. No appointment is necessary.

Depo Provera Injections
Given Monday - Friday, 0800 - 1100 and 1300 - 1500, in the Primary Care Clinic by the PCM team to which you are assigned. No appointment is necessary. Shots are given between 11 and 13-week intervals. If it has been more than 13 weeks since your last injection, you must have a pregnancy test first. Based on a negative pregnancy test and other criteria, you may receive your injection. This could take up to 4 hours.

Medical Records
If your records are not kept at WPAFB, please bring them to the appointment.

Medication Refills
Prescriptions with refills may be refilled at the Kitty Hawk Pharmacy (beside the Commissary) by calling (937) 257-9016 five days before picking it up. If your prescription is expired or run out and you do not have enough medication to last until the next available appointment, contact your PCM for a 'bridge prescription'. A 'bridge prescription' is a prescription that provides just enough medication to last until the next available appointment. Generally, two successive bridge prescriptions for the same medication are not allowed. Medication should be available for pickup at the Outpatient Pharmacy within three duty days. Please bring all medication bottles to your appointment for review with your PCM.

The Primary Care Clinic's telephone hours of operation are 0700-1600 Monday through Friday. The Primary Care Clinic hours of operation are 0700-1630, Monday through Friday.

Telephone Calls and Advice
If you would like to speak to someone on your PCM team during duty hours, please call (937) 257-9700, Monday - Friday 0700-1600. We will return your call within 72 hours depending on
call volume and urgency.

After duty hours, you can reach the on-call provider for medical advice by calling (877) 667-5573. You will be asked to provide your name, telephone number and a brief description of your concerns or questions. Your call will be returned within a few minutes. Lab results, medication renewals and appointments are not available after duty hours.

After Hours and Emergency Care
Medical care is available through the WPMC Emergency Room for treatment of emergent medical conditions as well as urgent health problems that cannot wait until the clinic opens to be addressed.

Out of Area Care

Emergent Care While Traveling More than 1 Hour Away from Home
If you are out of the area on vacation or TDY and you need emergency care, go to the nearest hospital or call 911. Within 24 hours of being seen for an emergency, call (877) TRICARE / (877) 874-2273 to inform the Healthcare Finder that you received care from another facility. Follow up with your Primary Care Manager (PCM) when you return to the local area.

Urgent Care While Traveling More than 1 Hour Away from Home
If you are away from home, contact (877) TRICARE / (877) 874-2273 for assistance in obtaining urgent care. You should be able to receive an urgent care appointment within 24 hours, even if you are traveling.
