Posted 10/10/2007 Printable Fact Sheet

The Wright-Patterson Medical Center OB-GYN staff is dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of women throughout their life span. The clinic is staffed with OB-GYN physicians, healthcare nurse practitioners, residents, registered nurses, medical technicians, and administrative personnel. We work closely with your Primary Care Manager (PCM) to provide specialized care in gynecology, as well as routine and complicated obstetrical services.

HOW TO BE SEEN IN OUR CLINIC

TRICARE Prime (active duty and their dependents) members, may schedule an appointment for an annual exam, without a consult or referral by calling TRICARE at 1-877-522-3600 or local (937) 522-2778. It is important to schedule your annual exam on a day that you will not be menstruating and are without vaginal infection. In order to prevent an abnormal pap smear results, please refrain from sexual intercourse, douching, use of vaginal creams, or tampons for at least 48 hours prior. Please be aware our annual exam appointments are limited and your Primary Care Manager (PCM) can and does offer annual exams as well.

If you need to be seen for a gynecologic reason, you should be seen first by your PCM, who will write a consult to Women's Health Services, if needed. Once your PCM has entered a referral, please contact the Referral Management Center or the hospital appointment line to schedule by calling 1-877-522-3600 or (937) 522-2778. If you are seeing a civilian PCM and would like a GYN consult with our Department, ask you PCM to fax a referral to our Referral Center (937) 656-1265. The referral will be reviewed and a TRICARE representative should contact you.

All Women's Health Center appointments are to be made through TRICARE, scheduled injections, and subspecialty appointments. All Perinatal Clinic appointments can be made by contacting the Perinatal Center at (937) 257-1938.
