University Nanosat Program (UNP)
About
The University Nanosat Program is a joint program between the Air Force Research Laboratory's Space Vehicles Directorate (AFRL/RV), AFOSR and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
The objective of the program is to train tomorrow's space professionals by providing a rigorous, two year, concept-to-flight-ready spacecraft competition for U. S. higher education institutions and to enable small satellite research and development (R&D), integration and flight test.

How to Participate in the University Nanosat Program
- An AFOSR request for proposal is released in the late summer/early fall every even numbered year
- Universities should check the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) Request For Proposal (RFP) that is associated with Nanosat.
- Universities should prepare proposals in accordance with the AFOSR BAA RFP, and submit them before the listed deadline
- University proposals selected for funding under the AFOSR Nanosat Program Grant will be notified prior to Nanosat Kickoff
Discussion of proposal and satellite mission design topics are welcome regardless of program timeframe.
