The Information Directorate focuses its research in seven major technical areas: Information Exploitation, Information Fusion and Understanding, Information Management, Advanced Computing Architectures, Cyber Operations, Connectivity, and Command and Control.
The Information Directorate has over 70 laboratories which are used to conduct its R&D programs. These laboratories are valued at over a third of a billion dollars and many are one of a kind.
