WRIGHT-PATTERSON STUDENT EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

The Student Educational Employment Program (SEEP) provides Federal employment opportunities to students who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment as degree seeking students taking at least a half-time academic, technical, or vocational course load in an accredited high school, technical, vocational, 2 or 4 year college or university, graduate or professional school.

SEEP is comprised of two components: the Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP), and the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP), which is commonly referred to as the Cooperative Education Program.

STEP APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Employment can range from summer jobs to positions that can last for as long as you are a student. These employment opportunities need not necessarily be related to your academic field of study.

Eligibility Requirements:

-A student enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student (diploma, certificate, etc.), and

-At least the minimum age required by Federal, state or local laws and standards governing the employment of minors, 16 years of age, and

-Taking at least half-time academic or vocational and technical course load in an accredited high school, technical or vocational school, 2-year or 4-year college or university, graduate or professional school, and

- Have an overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0. You must maintain this GPA while participating in the program and provide copies of your grade reports after each grading period.

- Preference may be given to a student who meets specific economic/income criteria based on Department of Health and Human Services poverty guidelines. The Student must submit verification of family income for this preference. For more information, call (937)-257-8305.


COOPERATION EDUCATION PROGRAM:

This program offers you valuable work experience directly related to your academic field of study. It provides formal periods of work and study while you are attending school. It requires a commitment by you, your school, and the employing Federal agency, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. You may be eligible for permanent employment under this program after successfully completing your education and meeting work requirements. U.S. citizenship is required for conversion to permanent employment under this program.

- You must be registered as a Co-op applicant with the school counselor or the Cooperative Education Office at the college or university.
