Q. What types of classes does the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine offer?
A. The school offers a wide range of course for Airmen just out of basic training to very senior advanced graduate training.
Students just out of basic training, frequently referred to as "pipeline students," are trained in one of the following courses before departing for their first permanent duty station.
-- Public Health Apprentice -- 12 weeks
-- Bioenvironmental Apprentice -- 16 weeks
-- Aerospace Physiology Apprentice -- 7 weeks
Other Air Force medical personnel, both enlisted and officers, may attend other courses at the USAFSAM. These areas of training include:
-- Enlisted Technical Training
-- Air Force Speciality Code Awarding Officer Training
-- Graduate Medical Education
-- Air Force Center for Expeditionary Team Training
-- Air Force Center for Air Evacuation Training
-- Joint International Medical Training Platform
-- Aerospace and Expeditionary Medical Sustainment Courses
