Chief Master Sergeant John M. Mazza serves as the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 88th Air Base Wing, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. As the senior enlisted leader, he represents more than 1,400 enlisted personnel assigned to Wright-Patterson. The Chief primarily focuses on deployment readiness, professional development, proper utilization and welfare issues of assigned Airmen and their families. He also advocates Commander's policies, organizational goals and objectives to the enlisted corps, ensuring adherence to standards and mission accomplishment. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base employs more than 25,000 and is one of the largest most complex bases in the Air Force. The base hosts a major command headquarters, research and development laboratories, an life cycle management center, a reserve airlift wing, and the world's largest military air museum.

Chief Mazza was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey and graduated from Mazon High School in Mazon, Illinois in 1986. He enlisted in the Air Force on October 20, 1987 and his background includes various positions within Civil Engineering as well as Mission Support Group Superintendent.

Chief Mazza deployed twice in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM to Joint Base Balad and Abu Ghraib Prison, Iraq. He also deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. Before assuming his current position, he was the Superintendent, 48th Mission Support Group, Royal Air Force Lakenheath, United Kingdom.
