Visitor Pass Instructions
If you wish to visit a patient admitted to WPMC but do not have access to WPAFB, you must obtain a visitors pass.  Passes are granted for 72 hours and are extended as necessary based on the patient's length of stay.

During normal duty hours:  Visit 88th Security Forces Squadron Pass & Registration, located in Bldg. 286 at 4185 Logistics Ave.  (Take Interstate 675 to exit 17, turn right just prior to entering Gate 15A).   You must have a valid state-issued ID and vehicle registration.

After duty hours: Drive up to gate 12A (Main gate).  The gate guards will contact WPMC's Admissions department to verify your request.

Please note: The patient must provide consent for ALL visitors


Hospital BX

The Hospital BX is for your convenience.  It contains toiletries, magazines, over-the counter medicine, greeting cards, gifts, food and beverage products, and postage stamps are sold at the counter.

Hospital Chapel

- Hours of Operation: Sanctuary open 24 Hours; Catholic Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday  

Healing is a priority at the medical center, whether the person is a patient, family member or a friend. Healing includes the whole person: Physical, Mental, and Spiritual. If you have a question concerning visitation, counseling, confessions, or communion, call the Chaplains Office at the number listed above.

Outpatient Records

The Outpatient Records Section is the central depository for all medical records except:

* Pediatric Records (dependents under 18), which are maintained in the   Pediatric Clinic.
* Civilian employee records, which are maintained in Bldg. 675, Area B.
* Active Duty Flying Status, which are kept in the Flight Medicine Clinic.
* Patients assigned to Internal Medicine Clinic

Interpreters
If you need an interpreter for American Sign Language or a Foreign Language please ask for assistance at our information desk. We have a list of staff and volunteers in the medical center who will be glad to assist you.

Legal Assistance

- Hours of Operation: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. All other times by appointment.

*Notary Services are limited to Living Wills and Healthcare Powers of Attorney

Medical Boards Processing

- Hours of Operation: 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Provides assistance to the medical staff and patients when an individual is identified as possibly being not qualified for continued worldwide duty and acts as liaison between the hospital, patient, and Air Force.

Passes
Your attending physician may authorize a pass. However, charges for your stay continue while you are on pass.

For active duty patients, the Patient Squadron Section Commander is the final approving authority for any pass. You must have an AF Form 569, "Patients Absence Record". All passes must have the approval of the attending physician. This approval is shown by either the signature of the physician or the charge nurse on the AF Form 569. All active duty patients must maintain the standards of their respective service, including personal appearance, hygiene and conduct both in and out of the hospital. Any military member returning from pass, convalescent leave, or subsistence elsewhere and believed to be under the influence of alcohol may be given a blood alcohol test.

The four types of passes are:

* Weekday pass: granted for a day or fractions of a day between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
* Overnight pass: granted from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. the next day.
* Weekend pass: granted  2:00 p.m. on Friday until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday or 8:00 a.m. on Monday.
* Holiday pass: determined based on the day of the week on which the holiday falls.


Medical Service Accounts Cashier's Office

The Medical Service Accounts "Cashiers Office" handles third party collections and any bills that have accumulated during your stay at the medical center.
