The National Museum of the United States Air Force opened its 224,000-square-foot fourth building in 2016. The display hangar, which houses more than 70 aircraft, missiles, and space vehicles in four new galleries, has an energy consumption reduction of 74%, an annual energy cost savings of over $130,000 and has achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.
