The 711th Human Performance Wing's United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine dedicated its AeroMedical Library on June 24 in honor of Joseph Franzello, a former director of the library.

The largest aeromedical library in the world, the Franzello AeroMedical Library relocated to WPAFB from Brooks City-Base, Texas.

"Without Joseph Franzello's foresight, strength of conviction and linguistic brilliance, we would not be here amongst this magnificent collection of over 300,000 journals, books and archives so unique, it is a jewel in the Air Force's crown of knowledge," said Steven Grove, Director of the Franzello AeroMedical Library.

"This library represents our obligation not to lose the aviation medicine lessons that we learned over the years," noted Colonel Christian Benjamin, Commander, USAFSAM. "Throughout his career, Mr. Franzello worked to expand the library with an eye on not just keeping the material housed here, but making it relevant to ongoing research and providing users easy access to it."

The Franzello AeroMedical Library is located in Building 840 of the 711 HPW's Major General Harry G. Armstrong complex.
