WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio –  Based on the steady decline of new COVID cases over the past six weeks across the state of Ohio, Col. Patrick Miller, 88th Air Base Wing and installation commander, announced today that Wright-Patterson Air Force base has transitioned to Health Protection Condition level Alpha.

For the month of May, the installation averaged less than one case per day; down from three cases per day in April. Approximately 63 percent of the Active Duty population and 43 percent of the base population have received at least one COVID vaccination.

The health and safety of Team Wright-Patt is a priority and understands the workforce may have concerns or questions on what the changes are transitioning to HPCON Alpha. Today at 4:30 p.m., a Facebook Live Town Hall will be held to discuss what the transition looks like for the base and what precautions will be taken to ensure employee safety as they begin to return to the workplace.

To view the town hall, please go to the 88th Air Base Wing Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/WPAFB
