WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The Air Force Marathon kicks off Sept. 16 and vital to the race are thousands of members of the ‘Flight Crew,’ who volunteer their time to help make race events a success.

From setting up the course, working the two-day Expo, handing out bibs and shirts, to manning hydration stations and providing entertainment for runners and participants, Flight Crew members are the engine that keeps the Air Force Marathon running.

“We couldn’t have this marathon without them,” said Jeanette Monaghan, volunteer coordinator. “From pre-race behind the scenes opportunities to race day finish line jobs our volunteers are the key to our success.”

Registration for Flight Crew positions is still open, and the Marathon has a need for volunteers to work the Expo and provide entertainment along the course.
