AFRL Advanced Power Technology Office seeks innovative energy solutions for warfighter mission

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The Air Force Research Laboratory Advanced Power Technology Office is seeking innovative alternative energy and energy-efficient technology solutions with the recent release of its latest broad agency announcement, published July 19 on the Federal Business Opportunities website.

APTO’s mission is to guide the development and execution of numerous advanced technology demonstrations supporting a comprehensive framework for energy assurance projects that can be replicated across the Air Force.

This latest announcement calls for the development of “new alternative energy and energy efficiency technologies to provide increased capabilities and benefits to AF installations, equipment, and aircraft.”

“What we are looking for is advanced power and alternative energy demonstrations to enable future missions,” said Capt. Randall Hodkin, APTO program manager.  “These products should maintain a focus on energy resiliency, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability with a demonstration and evaluation at around a Technology Readiness Level six.”

The broad agency announcement, titled “Advanced Power Technology Office – Energy Innovation,” (FA8650-16-S-5001), is open until August 21, 2017, and can be found at the Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fbo.gov.
